EUROPA

Hi guys, we are gearing up to be a touring band again after a long hiatus of two weeks since we got back from Australia. We have a new record coming out that you will all make fun of every tiny aspect of, so we're gonna take the show on the road so you can not make fun of us to our faces. Actually, the record is amazing and honestly is like if Hidden World was more fully formed and didn't have as much weird awkward stuff as it does, and all the songs were of normal length and the whole thing was about a love story, instead of who knows what Hidden World was even about. Snakes. Anyways I'm mostly making the comparison because the new one is also very long and contains 5 songs previously released on Hidden World, but whatever, you will hear it soon enough. We've even started playing some new songs live, I think I mentioned that a few weeks ago. We will have some US dates to announce in a bit, but let's get started with this warm-up UK/EU tour, almost our favourite place to go.

Hey, I know you don't do requests, but please can you play Year of the Rat on this tour? I've just found out I'm going to die at some point in the future and would love to experience it before then.

    Thank you.

No Birmingham date listed on any ticket sites. And there seems to be two listed for the 7th, I fear the worst!!!

Give it a couple of days and the Brum gig will probably show up online. I've had this before where a gig is announced on here, but doesn't get advertised by the venue until a few days later.

  16. I find it funny that people have resumed complaining about tour dates and missed the obvious bait he left to complain more about the new album (at least I think it's obvious bait). He mentioned that there's 5 songs on the album from "Hidden World". I'm surprised that the bitchfest from the previous posts hasn't resumed. If I'm wrong and there is 5 songs from "Hidden World" it will be interesting to see how they mix in with the new material.

However it turns out I'm very excited to hear some new material soon. One thing I was wondering is when you guys were planning on puting out the accompanying 7" and 12"? I was also wondering how the fictional band project is going?

the new songs sounded fun but pink eyes didn't know any of the lyrics and just ran about! it was funny for 30 seconds then got awkward.................

About the complaining ... I thought some of the points were at least worth thinking about. The poster and its content seem to have more in common with average indie-rock bands than with the stuff FUCKED UP usually impresses us with. Whatever that is/ was or by whatever name you wanna call it, it was ALWAYS s.th. new, unusual and ... stimulating. Soooo, the prospect of FUCKED UP becoming normal/ average is very frightning ... at least to me, hence the complaining.
    Cheers.

New poster rules. New concept album rules. Poster is weird and mysterious, which rules.

    Weird???
    MYSTERIOUS???
It's a picture of a guy and the story is basically told right there - and that's mysterious to you?
So what's a crossword puzzle to you?
A riddle wrapped up in an enigma inside a problem?
    ...
Or did you mean new poster and album rules as in these are the new poster and album rules???

Birmingham gig is now up on the institute site and this time around it's in the larger room than the gig last time around at the barfly and at a not too shabby £9 on a Sunday night. Looking forward to it.

  22. It's part of some shit festival but I think there are various gigs at various venues, so in effect it will be like a club gig rather than a festival gig, if that makes sense.

    That was a guess, here's a link:

  25. He is fucking with you with that Hidden World thing. All new songs... 18 on the record... People, calm down please!

  26. Damian,
Thanks for confirming my suspicions that he was indeed fucking with people about the albums sharing songs. I only posted because I thought it was funny that he was trying to get more complaints out of people but they didn't take the bait or they didn't read the post closely. Sorry if the intent of my post was unclear. I can't wait for the record!

Half the reason I like this blog is because whoever's writing it has the sense of humour to write stuff like" yeah the new album has 5 re-recordings, one Discharge cover and a fold-out picture of your mum". Why do people still take this at face value? FU are not U2.

  30. Liverpool : some stupid three-day £40 wristband-only can't-buy-single-gig-tickets
Manchester : some stupid festival can't-buy-ANY-ticket cos it seems the whole thing is organised by nobody at all.
    Staying at home looks like.

Probably best to stay at home and knock one off if you live near Liverpool.

That's a general comment rather than one about the gig.
